




Nominees:
The award is open to anyone who resides and works in the Southend Borough and qualify in one or more of the following criteria:
Producing an outcome in community projects leading to the benefit of the diverse community of Southend.
Caring for someone who is unable to look after himself or herself.
Demonstrating courage or bravery in protecting a person or persons from physical harm or in saving a person’s life.
Making sacrifices for the greater good of others.
Achieving distinction in a particular field that benefits the community.
Setting up an institution, a company or an organisation that produces tangible benefits for the community.
Advancing a disabled person’s life so that it is a full and fulfilling one.
Making a purposeful or sustainable improvement or contribution to the environment on energy conservation, pollution, recycling etc.
Being a notable role model for others and also a team person working beneficially and harmoniously with others for a better community.
Promoting equality and eliminating discrimination giving noticeable benefits to the community of Southend.
Groups are eligible for nomination.
Judging of each nominee will follow strict criteria and will be carried out by the respective judging panels. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be undertaken. The winning nominees will be notified by post by early September.
Closing date for nominations is 30th June 2011.
